She is currently working at the Waldorf School of Tampa Bay and is the founder/Artistic Director of Starlite Puppets: http://www.starlitepuppets.blogspot.com/ Throughout childhood she loved performing! It was to her a vehicle to connect with others in a joyful, meaningful way. Hand in hand came a love for working with children, which in high school. Not long after completing a theatre arts degree, she was asked by a fellow graduate to help perform puppet stories for school children. Later after beginning the journey as a teacher in a classroom, whenever a puppet troupe traveled to our school, it was unforgettable for her to see how strongly the children connected with the puppets! The journey continued after beginning my Waldorf teacher training, where she discovered a treasure trove of nurturing stories, and a puppet storytelling style adored by children. She loves watching members of a community join together and open to the magic within a story told with puppets. The experience invites the audience members to slow down, to create within themselves a place for something new and wonder-filled to happen, and to enter into the simplicity and beauty with their imaginations. Peggy Waterhouse, M ED has been working with the young child since 1984. She specialized in the infant and new parent skills, eventually working for UNICEF and the Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative in Europe. Returning to the US in 1997 brought her to the Pine Hill Waldorf School in New Hampshire and the Kindergarten. She received her Waldorf Certification in 2000 and her Master of Education degree at Antioch New England in 2001. A Child’s Nature-Care and Education was conceived and founded by parents, staff and community members with Ms. Waterhouse as executive director. She came to Sanderling Waldorf School in 2018 where she leads the Marigold mixed age Nursery/Kindergarten. In 2020, Ms Waterhouse became the EC Director to develop a new site for the program.
